Last year...actually the last couple years, I've been trying to figure out how to crochet. It never clicked until this year. I am sooo happy I finally figured this stuff out! I have a fear that I won't learn how to do things like sewing, quilting, crocheting, knitting, and other typical "women's arts" as I call them. I really want to learn them, so I can teach Emelie. Everything now days is so throw away. We rely too heavily on stores like Walmart and Target to clothe us, feed us, furnish our houses, clean our homes, and more. I want to learn how to be able to do things with out being completely reliant on stores all the time. I enjoy making our bread sometimes. I really enjoy cooking for my family. But I want to take it to the next level, and learn how to live a more self sustainable lifestyle.
The last few 2 summers, we grew a garden. Not a huge garden, and they didn't do the greatest (especially this past summer!). I'm excited for this next year. I am going to put more time into planning my garden space. I also want to can this year. I've used, frozen, and given away everything before. But I really enjoy gardening- I even like more to brag about how our garden is doing! :)
I've been working furiously on a granny square blanket for the past 2 months that I'm hoping to have completed before Christmas to give as a gift! Hopefully it will be completed soon! I want to make one for myself next!!
